Posted by on

Using raw honey as part of your hair care routine can be quite tricky, it is important to blend the ingredients correctly so you do not end up with a sticky mess that is quite hard to rinse off.

Let’s look at some examples of different hair masks, tailor made for different types of hair problems.

🐝Mask for damaged / dry hair

As we know, raw honey is full of antioxidants and antioxidants help your hair to be more nurtured. Honey is a natural moisturiser, it will seal moisture into your hair which can help to combat breakage.

You will need:

  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tablespoons of coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon of raw honey (we use our Wildflower Mountain Honey)

Blend all ingredients together thoroughly to get the right mix. Rinse your hair with water and use the towel to dab excess water away. Apply the mask and let it sink for around 30-40 minutes. If you have a shower cap, use one. If not, keep the towel on your shoulders to prevent mask to get onto your clothes. Rinse well with warm water and apply usual shampoo and conditioner. We recommend using this mask once a week.

🐝Boosts the growth mask

This mask will make your hair shinier and more moisturised while reducing oil at the scalp. When using the mask regularly, we recommend once a week, your hair should start to grow quicker.

You will need:

  • 1/2 cup of plain yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon of raw honey (we use our Wildflower Mountain Honey)

Combine and mix all ingredients in a bowl. Massage the mixture into the scalp, starting from roots and working down to the tips of your hair. Pin your hair up, cover with a disposable shower cap and let the mask sit for at least 20 minutes. Rinse well with warm water and apply usual shampoo and conditioner.

🐝Strengthening mask

Raw honey and bananas don’t just taste great together, they also form a powerful healthy hair partnership. Bananas are an amazing source of vitamin B6, vitamin C, and potassium, all of which are essential for hair health and promoting hair growth. Adding raw honey into the mix will add more softness and strengthening properties.

You will need:

  • 1 ripped banana
  • 1 teaspoon of raw honey (we use our Sainfoin White Honey)

Whip up this homemade duo by taking one ripe banana, and mixing it with a tablespoon of raw honey. Apply the mixture to your scalp and hair for 30 minutes. Rinse well with warm water and apply usual shampoo and conditioner.

Honey is a natural humectant that naturally draws moisture to your hair. Significant antibacterial properties in both of our honeys can help to tackle varies hair issues such as dryness of hair or scalp, dandruff, breakage and others.
